**THE ROLE**

Reporting to the Director, this rewarding role presents an exciting opportunity to be involved in Aboriginal-led and self-determined policy design and delivery, in contributing to strengthened self-determination for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), and in supporting improved outcomes for Aboriginal children and families within the child protection system.

The role manages the team addressing child protection and family services related findings of the Yoorrook Justice Commission and for coordinating across DFFH to support the implementation of these findings.

This role would suit a talented and dedicated individual to join the branch to contribute to driving the design and delivery of policy, strategy, and legislation for Aboriginal children, families and young people associated with Victoria's Child Protection, Care Services, and Child and Family Services system.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Lead and manage a team, contributing to staff professional development and monitoring and reporting on performance to identify emerging issues in relation to the business of the team, developing and implementing strategies and actions to address any issues.
- Provide strategic leadership by initiating, leading and contributing to policy initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
- Monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions.
