**The Company**

SJ Personnel is working with a valued client on an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

As the
**General Manager**, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations across the business and be the key figurehead in driving performance and change to the highest standards.

For the right person this role offers the opportunity to work in a great team with a strong focus on driving improvements in operational performance, financial management, and ensuring the highest safety and compliance standards are met. This will be done by using proven leadership skills and experience to guide and direct the team as well as developing and reviewing strategic visioning and planning for the organisation.

**The Role**

The General Manager is responsible for driving the high-level strategic leadership of Operations, overseeing a broad range of strategic areas which includes:

- Health, Safety and Wellbeing management.
- Finance, HR.
- Strategic planning and projects management.
- Reporting and governance.
- Internal and external communications.
- Business planning & performance.
- Providing thought leadership on opportunities to improve the service model to achieve excellence and emerging approaches to the delivery of integrated, effective, and efficient services.
- Providing a shared vision for operational excellence through active participation in priority setting, strategic planning, financial & risk management, business, and financial performance monitoring and maintaining effective organisational structures.
- Leading strategic projects and change management initiatives.
- Developing a positive and collaborative culture that embraces change and innovation.
- Building the capability and performance of the team to deliver quality outcomes and staff satisfaction.
- Providing authentic and constructive feedback and play a pivotal role in building trust and connection across Senior management and extended teams.
- Issues management, finding resolution in an authentic and customer focused manner.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders through trust, open communication and approaching all situations with a solution focused mind set.

Your focus will be on creating a business best in class in terms of people, process and performance.

**Expertise**
- Exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills, including evidence of the capacity to engage core functions and stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes and positive change within a complex organisational setting.
- Significant leadership skills, including the capability to initiate, lead and manage change in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
- Proven leadership of multi-functional teams; including successfully achieving business goals by effectively coordinating the integration of resources, processes, systems, people, and policies.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively to foster effective sharing of information.
- Experience in developing and operationalizing business continuity and crisis management processes
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive demonstrated experience in a complex operations leadership role at an Executive level.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment highly advantageous.
