About our Engineering Team

The Jetstar Engineering Team are at the forefront of delivering our superior safety standards. They are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of our fleet of aircraft, including completing all required maintenance that must be carried out on time and to approved standards to ensure they take to the skies safely. At every stage, all maintenance needs to be documented, detailed records maintained, with aircraft parts ordered and available at all times.

As part of our investment in our future, we have launched the Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the main maintenance hub of our network. Our team has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar fleet, but customer aircraft - A320/21, B717 and A321 Freighter.

The Opportunity

We now have a rare opportunity within our Maintenance Planning Team in the role of Manager, Fleet Planning. Reporting to our Manager, Maintenance Operations and acting a critical member of the Maintenance Planning Management Team, you will oversee the management of the A- and C- Check, campaign and long-term maintenance activities. You will act as the primary interface for the customer airlines being Jetstar-Branded Airlines, Network Aviation and Express Freighters and our maintenance providers in the Jetstar AMO and External providers.

As Manager, Fleet Planning, your responsibilities will include:

- Providing leadership to a small team of Maintenance Planners, including oversight of training, rostering, performance management and ongoing coaching and development
- Adherence to safety, airworthiness and compliance requirements, including continuously monitoring assessment of maintenance acquittal against maintenance requirements for airworthiness and compliance and investigating and reviewing incidents
- Manage interactions with key Fleet Teams associated with Jetstar and customer airlines for A- and C-check planning, Intermediate Maintenance and Campaigns oversight ensuring acquittal of maintenance activities in accordance with Approved Maintenance Programs and managing and updating fleet planning procedures for respective airline customers
- Management of interface with Jetstar AMO and Maintenance providers to forecast and plan maintenance, and review performance
- Maintain consistent engagement and planning with Network & Scheduling on Hull Profile requirements for network demand and maintenance requirements
- Manage planning aspects of entry-into-service (EIS) and lease-return activities
- Guide and oversee planners’ activities, facilitating process improvement via assignment of project responsibilities to direct reports.

About You

We are on the hunt for an experienced aircraft planner who is brings experience in, and passion for, leading a team.

You will be ideally bring:

- Solid experience in the planning of aircraft maintenance checks
- Aircraft Trade Certificate or tertiary qualifications in an aviation or engineering stream
- A confidence in communicating, and appetite to drive change and process improvements
- Knowledge of PART 145/42 regulatory framework
