About The Team
The Leadership Services and People Strategy team is a key part of the People and Culture Office (PCO), driving initiatives that enables Murdoch University’s people and teams to succeed. Covering strategic human resources, organisational development, learning and performance, business partnering, and equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), the team works to create a dynamic, supportive, and high-performing environment. Equity, diversity, and inclusion is foundational to Murdoch University’s identity and a core part of its origin story, shaping our values and vision. As a key strategic theme, EDI underpins the university’s commitment to fostering a commitment to building a welcoming, diverse and inclusive community.
By promoting cultural change, strengthening leadership capability, and supporting professional growth, the team aligns people strategies with the university’s goals
Your New Role
As the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Lead, you will be a vital part of the People and Culture Office, driving the integration of EDI principles across HR programs, policies, processes, and projects to create a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
This role works in close collaboration with the Office of EDI and has a dotted reporting line to the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, ensuring strong alignment with university-wide EDI strategies.
Your Key responsibilities will include
- Be the main point of contact for all EDI-related queries within the Chief People Office.
- Advise on integrating EDI into HR policies and practices, ensuring compliance.
- Support the development of inclusive programs, such as gender-based violence prevention.
- Collaborate on EDI projects and accreditations, driving alignment with university-wide strategies.

Selection Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience integrating EDI principles into HR practices and policies, with knowledge of legislative requirements, including gender-based violence prevention.
- Ability to develop and review HR policies with an EDI focus, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Proven track record in delivering EDI projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of Australian HR legislation and compliance, with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally.
