**About the role**:
In your role as Associate / Vice President, you will play a key role in the Front Office Portfolio team which sits within the GCIB-DI team in Oceania.

The role is expected to display maturity, experience and deal assessment abilities within the Portfolio team at all times, and to have strong and respectful relationships with the various risk functions. Additional tasks will include project and credit process work however the core role is to manage credit risk for GCIB Oceania within the Diversified Industries (DI) stream.

This role is crucial to the ongoing management and leadership within the DI stream; you will work closely with market leading RMs and product partners as your customers avail of MUFG products & services.

The broader Portfolio team plays an important role in achieving the Bank’s risk & return targets through conducting annual credit reviews and credit monitoring in accordance with the Bank’s internal procedures. This role plays an integral part of this function through the successful completion of a range of day to day tasks, including: the management of DI customer credit & portfolio related requests, periodic review of customer credit and risk profiles, supporting the Relationship Managers and Portfolio Leads to manage credit proposals for new transactions, (incorporating deal structuring, preparing credit submissions, & historical and forward looking financial and industry analysis), supporting the preparation of client presentations and customer account plans, all whilst managing compliance with internal processes and policies and other ad hoc support to the relationship managers.

**What you’ll be doing**:
**Account Management**: The role will support a portfolio of DI clients (specifically listed or private groups across a range of DI sectors which include Healthcare, TMT, Consumer, Industrials, etc. and include both Australian businesses as well as subsidiaries of offshore parents banked by GCIB globally) with a focus on credit quality monitoring and the achievement of the Bank’s risk / return targets through:

- Conducting annual credit reviews and internal rating reviews
- Covenant compliance monitoring
- Supporting refinancing and other revenue initiatives across the Portfolio
- Coordinating within the MUFG network
- Client interactions on tasks required for on-boarding and account management
- Any other required tasks in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures and required to support the broader DI business.

**Portfolio Management**: Support the national GCIB Credit & Portfolio team in the leadership of portfolio analysis, including a focus on sector risk / return and other strategic review processes.

**Credit and Portfolio**: Lead members of the Portfolio team in managing customer risk and limit allocation, with an eye on credit risk vs returns

**Customer Acquisition under the DI Portfolio**: Support the on-boarding/origination of new DI clients as part of our local, regional and global growth plans.

**DI Strategy and Focus**:This role supports the ongoing growth & management of the DI Oceania business.

**What we are looking for**:

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field
- Solid mathematical knowledge, Excel spreadsheet skills, research & analytical skills
- Broad Australian industry, business and economic understanding
- Strong financial analysis acumen and ability to assess large sets of data, make expert judgment, and identify key risks
- The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
- Sound platform of knowledge in each of the following
- credit writing
- financial analysis and modelling
- legal documentation and debt structuring
- Self-starter with drive, initiative and enthusiasm
- Team player with the ability to work independently and prioritise various work
- Previous experience in a leadership role providing guidance and mentorship to a developing team
