**Librarian Research and Community History**

As part of our Cultural Engagement & Library Services Business Unit, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operations of Georges River Libraries, delivering high-quality, customer-focused services, research, programs and collections.

In this role you will combine your research and local studies expertise with your technology and content creation skills to collect, preserve and engage the community with the local studies collection. You will also establish, develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within Council and the community to actively collect and preserve the history of the Georges River area. This role is primarily based at **Hurstville Library** and will involve other locations as required.

**Position Details**
- Permanent, Full-Time (70 hours per fortnight) including night shift and weekend work
- Salary from $78,788.61 - $91,288.49 per annum plus 11% superannuation
- Potential for a 9-day fortnight based on operational requirements

**Key Accountabilities**
- Creating and curating original content relating to community history for the Local Studies Collection, across social media and events.
- Undertake research, prepare reports, presentations, proposals and project plans.
- Assist with maintenance of the Local Studies collection, Local Studies Management Plan and Disaster Preparedness Plan.

**Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Studies at Librarian level, or equivalent qualification, or working towards.
- Experience with content creation and collection management.
- High level of skill and experience in providing research or local studies services in public libraries.
- Proficient use of technology and digital resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including delivering presentations and training.
- Efficient time management, project planning and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
