PHE HV and Switchboards are currently looking for a High Voltage Cable Jointer to join there new team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of high voltage cables, ensuring their integrity and safe operation. Your role will involve working on underground and overhead cables.

This position will be a 5/2 Monday to Friday roster with some weekends and project work as required.

Required and Desirable Qualifications:

- 4 plus years of industrial electrical experience or cable jointing experience
- Experience as a overhead linesman would be highly desirable
- Electrical Licence from any state
- Certificate III - ESI - Power systems - Distribution cable jointing
- Certificate III - ESI - Power systems - Distribution overhead (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of High voltage jointing best practices_, including VLF and Tan delta._
- Experience with single core and multicore SWA inline joints and terminations on XLPE cable up to 11kv

Activities and Responsibilities:

- Cable Preparation: Prepare cables by stripping insulation, cleaning and prepping cable ends for jointing, ensuring they are ready for termination.
- Jointing and Termination: Perform high voltage cable jointing up to and including 33kV, including connecting and splicing cables.
- Installation: Install cable joints in both underground and overhead configurations, following safety protocols and industry standards.
- Testing and Inspection: Conduct testing post-jointing to verify the integrity and performance of the jointed cables. Perform insulation resistance tests and VLF.
- Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Identify faults in high voltage cables, troubleshoot issues using diagnostic tools, and carry out repairs or replacements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of jointing activities, including specifications, materials used, testing results, and any repairs or modifications performed.
