**About the Role**:
The overall purpose of the Safer Community Lead is to promote the Safer Community message across the VU campuses; provide trauma-informed support, advice and expertise in the management of incidents of inappropriate, concerning or threatening behaviours and enhance University’s capability to prevent and respond to behaviours of concern.

**There are two (X2) positions available offered on full-time, continuing basis at the HEP 8 Classification Level, Salary range $108,472.73 - $122,154.73 per annum, plus 17% Superannuation.**

Some of the duties to be performed are:

- Receive and respond to disclosures and concerns of inappropriate, threatening, or concerning behaviour in a trauma-informed manner, ensuring that all interactions prioritise the emotional and psychological well-being of the individuals.
- Provide expertise in case management and conduct a thorough preliminary risk assessment, prioritising inquiries based on urgency, severity, and potential impact.
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders to evaluate and address immediate safety concerns, ensuring swift and appropriate action.
- Provide confidential support and guidance to individuals disclosing concerns, offering a range of options for action.

**About You**:

- Proven high level expertise in case management and risk assessment
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice in trauma informed response for matters including sexual harm, gender-based violence, online abuse, and discriminatory harassment
- Experience and understanding of the impact of intersectionality in relation to marginalised and minority groups
- Proven ability to exercise initiative, to solve complex problems and make recommendations. Sound judgement on when to seek advice.
- Proven high-level organisational skills, with a strong ability to set priorities, plan and organise unpredictable workloads to achieve specific objectives to meet tight deadlines
