Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for over 70 years. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the 4100-megawatt Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants and has recently contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to more than 1.2 million retail customers through Red Energy and Lumo Energy.
The Hunter Power Project, a gas-fired power station located in Kurri Kurri, NSW will supplement Snowy Hydro's generation portfolio with dispatchable capacity underpinning when the needs of electricity consumers are highest. The power station will comprise two heavy-duty, open cycle gas turbines (OCGT) and are the latest and most efficient turbines that the world's best manufacturers can offer for the site. **The role**:
As Commercial Manager of the project team, you will lead all commercial matters associated with the Hunter Power Project. In this role you will provide expert commercial and business expertise and strong negotiating and influencing skills. The Commercial Manager is accountable for delivering successful commercial outcomes for the project including the creation and implementation of innovative commercial strategies and project controls.
Technical and thought leadership will come natural to you, where you will lead the team in contract negotiations and make recommendations on commercial issues relating to construction contracts as well as lead change management activities for project controls.
**We're ideally looking for someone with**:
Tertiary qualifications (minimum Bachelor's degree) and relevant professional memberships & accreditations highly desirable.
Extensive experience with large scale civil/mining/construction projects within complex contractual, stakeholder and regulatory environments.
Demonstrated experience in leading complex negotiations to deliver successful commercial project outcomes.
Excellent interpersonal, business engagement and influencing skills to effectively manage and communicate commercial, project and risk related matters to a wide range of stakeholders.
The ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions/recommendations based on accurate & timely analysis
Demonstrated success in contributing to and leading others in a team environment
