**Role purpose**
The Principal Finance & Reporting Analyst position sits in the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) within the Strategy and Design Unit, reporting to the ICT Portfolio Manager. The Principal Finance & Reporting Analyst is responsible for translating the ICT operations into financial management and reporting for the ICT Project Portfolio, including funding, budget allocation, forecasting, actuals, and accruals. as well as undertaking ad hoc financial analysis and modelling.
This newly created position will play an integral role in ensuring the Strategy and Design Unit manages financial analysis and reporting for the ICT Project Portfolio as part of the Mid and End-of-Year review processes. The role will also be required to undertake ad hoc financial analysis and modelling.
In addition, the position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced financial systems that support delivery of the ICT portfolio of projects in collaboration with Program Managers and key stakeholders.

**Technical Expertise**:
- Extensive experience and exposure to the IT industry and understanding all the phases of investment management and IT project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience working in a financial management role for medium to large government or commercial organisations, with reporting responsibilities to senior management.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the Victorian financial governance framework, corporate financial and reporting systems, chart of accounts structure and alignment with business needs.

- Financial Skills: significant experience with Government financial systems and a high level of skills in analysis and presentation of financial information.

**Qualifications**:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in relevant areas such as Business Studies, Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar related disciplines.
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants or equivalent professional accounting body is desirable.
