As a Project Officer you will be responsible for researching, analysing, advising and implementing the development of the Victorian building and plumbing regulatory framework including preparing legislative and regulatory proposals, briefs and reports to a range of stakeholders.
The position also assists in managing and coordinating the preparation of technical and regulatory projects, gathering and analysing regulatory data, staying abreast of relevant regulatory, industry, social and technological changes, drafting articles and fact sheets for the VBA website and liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
What we are looking for?
- Previous experience in regulations or policy development. With exposure to areas such as preparing legislative proposals, standards development, regulatory impact statements, red tape reduction proposals and fees and cost reviews.
- Experience in working within a legislative or regulatory environment and understanding of the workings of Government administrative processes are highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to organise complex and detailed information logically using clear and concise language
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain productive relationships with the ability to understand requirements, build commitment to adoption and enable collaborative delivery of outcomes and ability to work as an effective member of a cohesive team
