**Job Description**:
Aurora Dairies are currently seeking an Environment and Sustainability Manager to join our team. This is a new role within the organisation supporting the significant recent growth, and projected growth in the future.
The role will support the Senior Management Team, reporting to the General Manager - Commercial and will work collaboratively with the operational, commercial and financial teams of the business. The role is an exciting opportunity leading the implementation of the Aurora Dairies Sustainability Strategy and Initiatives in line with our key pillars of:

**What the role entails;**
As Aurora’s new Environment and Sustainability Manager, you will be working with and be supported by a highly skilled team but will be expected to manage certain processes, queries and work at a level of autonomy. You will also be expected to build a good understanding of the organisation’s goals, both short
- and long-term.
This role has four key focus areas;
- **Sustainability Strategy**
- Partnering with the Senior Team, lead the implementation of the Aurora Dairies Sustainability Strategy and Initiatives, including key focus areas of:
- People and communities
- Sustainable farming systems; and
- Responsible stewardship.
- Oversee, lead and contribute to our sustainability strategies and initiatives.
- In conjunction with the Senior Team, facilitate and implement the development the Project Plans and associated objectives.
- Drive change through clear project objectives and stakeholder engagement and alignment.
- **Sustainability Culture**
- Lead and coordinate business wide education programs.
- With the Senior Team, be a key leader in the further development of a culture of alternative sustainable practices, sustainability awareness and commitment to the Sustainability Strategic Plans.
- Development of sustainability focused inductions, training programs, reporting, compliance monitoring and associated policies and procedures.
- Work across the organisation to make sustainability a part of our employee experience at all farms.
- **Stakeholder Management**
- Manage external stakeholder relationships including regulatory authorities, representative groups and build relationships with organisations within legislative and policy frameworks.
- Support development of industry and community engagement on sustainability initiatives.
- Engage with external stakeholders as required on sustainability issues.
- Seek opportunities for external collaborations and funding opportunities for social and environmental sustainability leadership initiatives.
- **Teamwork & Leadership**
- Contribute as a key member of the Aurora Dairies business.
- Work with the Senior Team to incorporate sustainability objectives into business and operational planning processes.
- Coordinate submissions and reporting for internal benchmarking and Investor reporting.
**Qualifications**:
**The desired skills and experience for this opportunity are;**
- A qualified and technically proficient environmental professional with a degree in, or comparable background/experience in Environmental Science or similar.
- A self-starter and a team player, with the ability to work independently and handle multiple concurrent objectives.
- High level of influencing, coaching and negotiating skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and gain the confidence and support of stakeholders.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Travel to regional areas and internationally with our NZ operations will be required as part of the role.
