**About the role**
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join the dynamic team at Q Automation Pty Ltd in Lane Cove, NSW. This full-time role will see you working on a variety of electrical and electronic engineering and building Automation projects, contributing to the company's growth and innovation.
**What you'll be doing**
- Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and performance checks on electrical and lighting systems, machinery, and related components to ensure long-term reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve faults in electrical systems, including circuit malfunctions, equipment failures, and other system-related issues, ensuring timely and effective repairs or replacements.
- Develop and update technical drawings, documentation, and schematics to represent electrical systems, ensuring all specifications are accurately reflected for construction, maintenance, and operational purposes.
- Collaborate with engineers to gather data, conduct simulations, and review prototypes to support the development of new electrical designs and solutions.
- Design, implement, and optimise software programs for lighting and electrical systems to enhance functionality, energy efficiency, and system performance.
- Evaluate completed electrical designs and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Perform cost analysis for repairs and replacements, ensuring that all solutions are cost-effective while maintaining high-quality standards.
**What we're looking for**
- **Tertiary Qualification in Electrotechnology Electrician or a related field** - Essential for a deep technical understanding of electrical systems and design.
- **Strong Technical Knowledge in Electrical Systems and IT** - Ability to integrate electrical solutions with advanced IT systems, including software for lighting control, building management systems and energy efficiencies.
- **Proven Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills** - Excellent ability to quickly identify issues within complex electrical and IT systems and implement effective solutions.
- **Excellent Attention to Detail** - High standards of accuracy in technical drawings, system evaluations, and compliance with industry regulations.
- **Strong Time Management and Organisational Skills** - Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- **Experience with CAD Software** - Proficiency in technical drawing tools and platforms for creating electrical plans and system diagrams.
- **Adaptability and Initiative** - Comfortable adapting to new environments, technologies, and challenges, with a proactive approach to solving problems.
- **Strong Communication and Teamwork Skills** - Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, contractors, and project teams, while also working autonomously when needed.
