Community Engagement Volunteers support the Community Engagement Team to deliver a range of quality activities and events.

**Days and hours required per week**:
2 hours per week - flexible
Some tasks can be performed remotely.
Days and times can be flexible.

**Location**:Asylum Seekers Centre, Newtown, Auburn Centre for Community

**Commitment Period**:Minimum 3 months

**Tasks of the Engagement Volunteer may include**:

- _We are asking for volunteers with skills in the following areas:_
**_For Auburn_**
- _Yoga_
- _Skin care_
- _Parenting - for any age_
- _Nutrition_
- _Art_
- _or propose a skill you may want to share_

**_For Newtown_**
- _Nutrition_
- _Art skills_
- _Self-care_
- _music group/lessons_
- _gardening (once a month at a local garden)_
- _or propose a skill you may want to share_

**(Please specify on the cover note which activity you would like to contribute with)**

**Selection Criteria**
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills including active listening skills and the ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for people seeking asylum
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers

**General Conditions**:
All ASC staff and volunteers are required to:

- Adhere to ASC’s vision, purpose and values.
- Act at all times in accordance with ASC’s Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policies.
- Comply with Work, Health and Safety systems.
- Comply with Incident Management Procedures and emergency protocols.
- Demonstrate a respectful and welcoming behaviour with all people at ASC in culturally appropriate ways.
- Have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination.
- Undertake a NSW Working with Children Check prior to commencement and ensure it is up-to-date.
- Support a child-safe organisation by undertaking screening for suitability to work with children and vulnerable people and to comply with relevant state/territory legislative requirements.
