Our Federal Government client is seeking an
**Associate Director** to provide leadership and direction in Aboriginal workforce attraction, professional development and cultural safety
**Overview of the position**:
The Associate Director, Aboriginal Partnerships and Inclusion is a senior member of the dynamic People and Culture Leadership Team, providing leadership and strategic direction in the areas of Aboriginal workforce attraction, retention and professional development and cultural safety.
The Associate Director provides oversight, advice and input into the development and implementation of workforce strategies to support the department's goals of integrating workforce diversity and creating the foundation for an inclusive, safe and collaborative culture.
**About the role**:
- Develop strategic partnerships and initiatives to grow and develop the department's Aboriginal workforce
- Monitor the implementation of workforce-related initiatives within the department's Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan
- Provide expert advice and support the development, implementation and review of Aboriginal traineeships, cadetships and/or graduate programs across the department
- Provide strategic leadership and form partnerships to support the design and implementation of initiatives aimed at lifting cultural capability, belonging and inclusion to deliver improvements in cultural safety and culture
- Consult and provide advice from a workforce perspective on state-wide programs and initiatives including Aboriginal employment, cultural safety, and inclusion and the shaping of new workforce systems and policies
- Manage, coach and support the Aboriginal Workforce team, including providing ongoing guidance and support, monitor, and appraise work performance and facilitate ongoing professional development to ensure delivery of key project milestones and outcomes
**Ideally, you will have**:
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience leading statewide projects to improve Aboriginal outcomes in a large and complex service delivery organisation
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal people, stakeholders and communities to lift cultural capability, deliver on Aboriginal Workforce targets and other related initiatives within a statewide service or similar
- Proven management expertise at a senior level, including the ability to coach and develop teams to ensure high performance
- Highly developed understanding of the environmental, social and economic issues facing Aboriginal employees and communities across NSW, as well as key organisation contacts and major Aboriginal employment stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, analytical skills, influential abilities, planning skills and ability to evaluate operational strategies
