Sydney- Ancillary Areas- PermanentOur client is a commodity trading and mining company seeking an **Oil Trading Associate** to join their **Sydney **team.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Manage the entire life cycle of physical cargo delivery process pre and post shipment
- Manage and plan the shipping program for diesel and gasoline imports into Australia liaising with internal and external counterparties in Singapore
- Ensure robust contracts are in place for all purchase and sales of oil
- Appoint and oversee third party surveyors and agents to assist in shipping operations
- Sending discharge instructions to vessels/terminals and barges
- Assist with commercial/market related information to the trading desk as necessary
- Maintain good working relationships with external counterparties
- Collating market information on vessel port calls, terminal storage and competitors for the commercial team to action upon
- Commercial awareness in operations - volume tolerance, freight economics, demurrage savings and price exposure
- Good understanding of technical shipping and maritime terminology
- Basic understanding of hedging and exposure
