Based at the Toll Wacol site (Brisbane) the Regional Manager HSE - Darling Downs & Surat Basin is responsible for driving the proactive implementation and continual improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) culture, strategy, plan and performance across the Darling Downs & Surat Basin operations for the Minerals Oil & Gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Safety Obsessed cultural change program and work closely with line management to foster a safety-first environment.- Lead the consultation and successful implementation of the HSEQ Global Management System across operations, working with key stakeholders to manage HSE matters.- Audit, monitor, and maintain compliance with ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001) to ensure certification requirements are met.- Develop and review Site HSE Plans in collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure alignment with the Business Unit HSE Plan.- Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs that enhance risk management and safety leadership across the business.- Oversee incident investigations using methodologies like ICAM, ensuring timely corrective actions.
Knowledge & Experience:
- 5-7 years practical experience in an HSE role within Road Transport Logistics, Warehousing, or the Mining and Energy industries.- Strong understanding of HSE legislation and management system standards (AS4801, OHSAS18001 & ISO14001).- Prior experience in third-party audits, corrective action planning, and maintaining high compliance standards.- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyse and communicate data effectively.- Experience in relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders.- Root Cause/Causal Factor incident investigation methodology training.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).- Tertiary HSE qualifications (highly desirable).- Dangerous Goods qualifications (desirable).- Internal Auditor qualifications - IRCA, Exemplar Global or equivalent (desirable).- ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 certification experience.- HSE or Risk Management certification.
