**About the Design Branch**

The Design Branch, as part of the Precincts team within Development Victoria, is responsible for providing strategic direction and design services on a diverse range of projects, from major urban renewal to new acquisitions for policy led residential development.
We value design that improves quality of life, prioritising buildings and spaces that deliver social and economic benefit to Victoria.
We are a small team of five and work collaboratively on all projects, encouraging individuals to play to their strengths and grow their career.

**About the role**

The Assistant Design Manager role is one of two support positions within the team, responsible for contributing to all projects and leading a wide variety of project packages.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Support the design team on precinct urban design strategies, master plans and concept design.
- Prepare design presentations to communicate the vision and objectives of our projects to government.
- Working with a diverse range of stakeholders and building strong relationships.
- Assist in providing general design support and design review for other divisions.
- Assist in directing architecture, urban design, and landscape consultants.

**About You**

Your background in urban design and proven experience in master planning, residential development, urban design, feasibilities, strategy, and project management will allow you to shape the role and provide a positive impact across many exciting projects.

**Ideally you will have**:
Qualifications relevant to the requirements of the role.
Experience in ‘front end’ urban design, master plans, and strategy development.
- Experience in urban renewal projects.
- Exposure to working with a broad range of projects and typologies.
- Experience in preparing feasibility studies and concept designs.
- Experience working and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage projects to timeline and budget.
