**About the role**

To support our success, and due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a **Head of Regulatory Affairs** to join the **Risk & Compliance** division.

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring Australian Retirement Trust (ART) has an appropriate and effective regulatory engagement strategy and to promote understanding of the regulatory environment, emerging themes and areas of regulator focus across the enterprise. You will maintain and promote a strong and transparent interaction model with key regulators, and proactively manage regulatory matters to ensure the ART Group is responsive and continues to meet regulatory expectations.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring processes are in place to maintain AFS and RSE licenses to ensure these remain appropriate to support the ongoing operations of the Group.

You will also be accountable for keeping abreast of emerging changes in the regulatory environment and for maintaining, communicating and operationalising the legislative and regulatory change process.

This role is available as a permanent opportunity.

We are **flexible** for this role to be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

**About you**

If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications will include:

- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Commerce, Accounting or equivalent.
- Comprehensive understanding of Trustee and Life Insurance obligations under APRA and AFS licensing regimes including the reportable situations and breach reporting regimes
- An excellent understanding of best practice approaches to managing regulatory and compliance frameworks within the investment management, banking or broader financial services sector.
- Solid knowledge of both current and emerging regulatory, risk and compliance frameworks.
- The ability to translate technical legal and regulatory requirements into efficient and easily understood business processes
- Proven success in gaining respect externally among policymakers, regulators, industry influencers, superannuation executives, corporate executives and community groups.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership of a team within a complex environment, including performance management, leading change, recruitment and employee engagement.
