Domestic assistants help service recipients with basic household tasks, including bed making, cleaning, dishwashing, laundry, hanging clothes out to dry, ironing, meal preparation and unaccompanied shopping. They are in charge of making sure that service recipients' houses are maintained in a clean, hygienic, and welcoming manner in accordance with the person's needs and preferences.

A home care employee has a varied schedule and offers flexible hours.
Having the flexibility to work around school hours, Monday through Friday.

**Key Competencies**:

- Good communication skills.
- Being able to work independently.
- Access to a personally owned, thoroughly maintained, and insured car.
- Australian Driver's License, current and unencumbered.
- Good organizational skills so that tasks get done on schedule.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate and perform well as a team member.
- Ability to operate a smartphone or tablet or the capacity to learn.
- Physical fitness, comprising the capacity for lifting, carrying, standing, and prolonged sitting.
