**The Role**
**Ventia **are seeking to engage a qualified and experienced **Fire Systems & Hydraulic / Plumbing Supervisor** to join our Defence Base Services contact. This position is based at RAAF Base Pearce in Bullsbrook and will see you working within the Estate upkeep team as part of our national Defence contract.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining all fire hydraulic suppression systems with broad knowledge of both wet and dry systems. This can include AFFF Deluge Fire Protection, sprinkler suppression, Fire Indicator Panel’s (FIP), Vesda and oxygen depletion systems. Therefore, experience in hydrocarbons, power generation and lifting and access equipment would be highly advantageous.

In addition, this role will provide supervision and co-ordination of all trades to effectively maintain, repair, replace and ensure the integrity and performance of facilities and equipment. knowledge of large plumbing and reticulation infrastructure as well ad wastewater treatment plant knowledge is essential. Attention to detail will also be a key aspect with reporting using SAP, Microsoft Suite and Power BI.

This is a full-time permanent role, working Monday-Friday from 07:00am to 03:30pm (with some flexibility).

**Key duties, but not limited to**:

- Supervision of in-house trade's staff and subcontractors for all General Estate Works (GEW) under the Defence Contract
- Inspection/validation of the physical work to ensure compliance with set quality and technical standards
- Ensure reporting and compliance of activities is completed and maintained
- Assist with Planning, Scheduling and allocation of activities to be completed within allocated budgets and timeframes
- Ensure accounts are maintained with appropriate suppliers to ensure equipment and services are available to tradespersons
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry WHS and promote a safe working environment for all staff and subcontractors
- Attend scheduled meetings with Trades, Sub-Contractors and Customer Representatives, to monitor progress and address issues that could affect Safety, quality, schedule and cost etc

**Skills and experience**:

- Experience and understanding of a variety of Fire Suppression Systems
- Formal trade background with experience in facilities maintenance on a range of building related works and repairs
- Ability to consistently deliver when under pressure and dealing with integrated systems and potential hazards
- Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating in house trades, including contractors and sub-contractors
- Flexible to meet the demands of after-hours work and the ability to participate in an on-call roster
- Strong oral and written communication skillsCompetent in the use of the MS Office suite, SAP and Power BI is highly regarded
