**About the role**- In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our electrical network. You will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and commissioning of protection, control, metering, and communications equipment across a range of sites — including zone substations, EHV terminal stations, distribution substations, HV customer installations, and pole-top assets.
- You’ll be contributing directly to our mission of delivering a safe, reliable, and cost-effective electricity supply to our customers, while meeting key service and performance objectives. **Key Responsibilities**
- Perform maintenance testing, operating and commissioning of Electrical Plant, Protection, Control, Metering & Communications equipment for clients in accordance with relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Customer procedures.
- Investigate causes of malfunction of Electrical Plant, Protection, Control, Metering & Communications equipment and carry out the necessary modifications, repairs and testing to improve reliability
- Ensure correct use of test equipment, procedures and knowledge of the operation and performance of various types of relays and equipment to provide reliable Protection & Control
- Complete all relevant field reports in a timely & accurate manner
- Maintain the requirements of the Company’s Quality & Customer Service Charters.
- Develop & maintain client relationships & partnerships
- Provide “on the job” leadership to project teams
- Coordinate projects, consisting of mainly of secondary systems, including resources & equipment to ensure customer needs are met

**Key Criteria**
- Proven experience providing or assisting in testing services of Electrical Plant, Protection & Control systems up to 500kV in a relevant industry
- Experience in performing electrical testing on medium to complex systems in accordance with established work practices and regulations
- Operating procedures, practices and outage planning
- Hold a Sanction for Test authority (SFT) and effectively test plant in accordance with the SFT authority
- Competent in the use of the IT systems; which will include SCADA, GIS, EDNAR, RESIS (Relay Equipment Settings Information System), Google Enterprise, ENMAC via Webview
- A practical understanding of business escalation & incident management processes
- Working understanding of the Company’s work practices & procedures relating to primary & secondary equipment testing
