Within the framework of the Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries, as well as the Policies of St Vincent’s Hospital, the Trainee will provide effective medical services, under supervision, to patients presenting to St Vincent’s hospital with substance use disorder of varying severity, while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment.
The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide both inpatient and outpatient care of patients with a large focus of this role being dependence care, treatment of drug and alcohol withdrawal, and post-withdrawal management.The position participates in the after-hours roster as required.

- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
- Must have Australian experience or be eligible for Competent Authority pathway.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective oral, written and computer skills and demonstrated good organisational time management skills.
