The Phase 1 Unaccredited Trainee will be assigned to the Medical Oncology Department for the specified term of 1 year and will undertake specific tasks and responsibilities both clinically in Phase 1 as well as in research in Head and Neck Carcinoma with specific emphasis on immunotherapeutics.

The Phase 1 Unaccredited Trainee will be at least PGY3, with experience in oncology, clinical trials and clinical research. They will be located within The Kinghorn Cancer Centre, St Vincent’s Hospital and Garvan Institute as needed. The Trainee will be assigned to the Medical Oncology Department for the specified term of 1 year and will undertake specific tasks and responsibilities both clinically as well as in research in Phase 1 Medical Oncology with specific emphasis on immunotherapeutics. The Trainee will work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

**What you'll be doing**

The Phase 1 Unaccredited Trainee will be assigned to the Medical Oncology Department for the specified term of 1 year and will undertake specific tasks and responsibilities both clinically in Phase 1 as well as in research in Head and Neck Carcinoma with specific emphasis on immunotherapeutics.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Demonstrated ability to be able to deliver a clinical or research goal or agenda that is achievable within the term of an year
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills and judgment and expertise.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, good time management skills and capacity for self-directed learning
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated capacity to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated research track record
- Evidence of demonstrated commitment to core values of hospital based medical practice: patient care, teaching, research and quality improvement
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
