**Health Assistant in Nursing (Full Time - Ongoing) - Ward AC4**
**The Royal Melbourne Hospital - Royal Park**
- Full Time - Ongoing
- Located at the Royal Park Campus
- Recent experience in an acute healthcare setting or at least 1 year experience in a subacute/aged care healthcare setting
AC4 is a 25-bed ward specializing in Geriatric Evaluation and Management, requiring Health Assistants in Nursing (HANs) to support the nursing team in providing safe, quality care. AC4 has a specialist dementia specific secure unit (secure GEM) enclosed.
HANs work under the direction and supervision of the Associate Nurse Unit Manager or a Registered Nurse (RN), within their education and competencies, and follow clearly defined role parameters.
The HAN role is flexible, involving a mix of direct patient care and activities supporting the team especially working in secure GEM unit.
The ward focuses on delivering quality care to complex patients while prioritizing staff retention, professional development, and compassionate, respectful care.

**What will your typical day look like?**
- Provide high quality standards of patient care. _This includes p_articipating in delegated care relating to patient activities of daily living, ensuring that the personal needs, dignity, and comfort of patients are maintained.
- Provide constant observation to patients at risk of harm to self/others
- You will gain enhance your management of delirium and dementia patients
- Ensure all elements of delegated work are completed to a high standard and in accordance with Royal Melbourne Hospital policies, procedures and values Be part of a team that prides itself on a collaborative and inclusive environment, committed to high quality evidence-based patient care

- Recent experience in an acute healthcare setting or at least 1 year experience in a subacute/aged care healthcare setting
