Pegasus Care is excited to announce a new Supported Independent Living project in the Newcastle Area and we are looking at recruiting Disability Support staff to work with us who have a range of skills willing to work in a variety of settings to utilise and build on their specific skill base.

Within this role you will be supporting a man in his 50s to live as independently as possible by rebuilding his life skills and ability to re-engage with his favourite activities.

He is a man who loves to joke around, have a laugh, cook, clean, be active and stay connected with his family and friends. His ultimate goal is to learn how to ride a bike again. some of our participants in all areas of their life including, supports in the SIL home, personal care, meal preparation, communication, learning life skills, accessing the community and maintaining family relationships. You will have a positive outlook, a can do attitude and friendly demeanour.

The successful applicant will be supported by a cohesive team of support workers, a key worker and team leader to learn the specific skills to excel in this role.

Ongoing training is provided.

The role requires staff to be available to work a 24/7 roster which will include weekend and public holidays, and, may include night shift/sleepover shifts. **To ensure the smooth running of the Service, staff will need to commit to a minimum of 30hpw**

You will need well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a Team as well as family members, you will need good communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to follow the routines and protocols in the setting in which you work.

**The successful applicant must be able to show experience in some or all of the following:

- **
- Previous sector experience
- Experience in the provision of personal care
- Mobility Assistance/Manual Handling/ Rehabilitation experience
- Provision of Community Access.
- Implementation of Individual Goals, Plans, Routines

100 points of ID
- The right to work in Australia
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Work (or similar)
- NDIS Worker Clearance Certificate.
- Completed NDIS Worker Induction Module - Quality, Safety & You
- Infection Control Training - COVID-19 Certificate
- Current NSW Working With Children Check
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- NSW Drivers Licence, a Reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance
- Provide evidence of vehicle registration
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $38.08 per hour
