**The Company**
Our Client, NSW Farmers is an advocacy group for local farmers in NSW. They are a grassroots association being the voice of farmers with a primary purpose to listen, engage, provide value, and act on their behalf to drive and deliver meaningful project outcomes that directly benefit farmers. They are fiercely independent and champion the rights of farmers to external organisations including the Government.

They are seeking to appoint the
**Head of Finance & Business Services** to oversee all aspects of their financial and operations. The focus of this role will be to work closely with the CEO, Board and external advisors to shape investment and business strategy while ensuring governance and statutory financial performance and reporting. A pivotal role for NSW Farmer’s success.

**The Role**
You will be responsible for the following:
Financial functions:
Through effective people leadership of a dedicated finance and business services team you will:

- oversee, analyse, and ensure accuracy of GL, P&L, balance sheet and cashflow, including completion of financial and tax reports and submissions, external year-end audit, full budgetary process, management of payroll and Board attendance and reporting
- ensure company records and processes, including invoicing and insurance compliance
- provide detailed and through finance reporting and advice to the CEO and Board
- drive the development of investment strategy and capital management

Business Services Functions
- manage company policies and procedures including risk and all aspects of WHS
- work collaboratively to ensure all financial, databases, and digital frameworks support productivity targets
- oversee all commercials including a considerable commercial property portfolio
- contract management across the organisation
- prepare regular and annual operational reports
- compliance reporting and governance
- provide support to the CEO on human resources and board governance

**The Person**:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field) and CPA qualifications
- proven attention to detail with strong financial, analytical, and numeracy skills, ideally with audit experience somewhere in your history
- operational knowledge and experience to support NSW Farmers
- exceptional systems and of Microsoft programs knowledge
- effective written and oral communications skills
- experience working in a membership business environment and exposure to agriculture will be seen as ideal
- a proven track record of business improvement
- be an exceptional people leader with an ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines
