This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.
Your role

**Responsibilities include**:

- Contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds care and facilities (when required) support to the Principal and Business Manager
- Ability to conduct minor repairs and maintenance to Grounds (except jobs that require a qualified tradesperson)
- Garden Waste Management
- Capability to perform activities consistent with workplace, health and safety guidelines
- Communicate and discuss with Principal/Business Manager or nominated delegate on matters regarding periodic maintenance of facilities.
- Oversee maintenance of school ovals through regular mowing, watering and soil maintenance; lawn and garden maintenance, including regular weeding and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary (refer to WHS guidelines and procedures); plant, water and care for trees, shrubs, gardens; and undertake general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, tractors and arrange regular services.
- Undertake grounds improvement and enhancement activities; and prepare, mark and take general care of all outdoor sporting facilities (e.g. courts & track and field areas)
- Liaise with various internal and external personnel where necessary.
- Take initiative on tasks to be completed and future tasks.
- Positive Disposition.
- Good team work skills.
- Previous Gardening Experience.
- Mechanical knowledge of Garden Equipment to be able to inform Admin for repairs and maintenance.
- Certificates relevant to the position.
