Responsible for Quality Assurance regarding AOC, Ops, and Maintenance.
- Fulfil the requirements of the CASR Part 145 and 147 Quality Manager role.
- At least 3 years experience in a similar capacity as a Lead Auditor.
ALG is currently recruiting a **Quality Systems Manager** for our renowned client based in Brisbane Australia.
The Quality Systems Manager will report to the Head of Safety and be responsible for the Quality Assurance function regarding to AOC, Operations, and Maintenance to satisfy the requirements of relevant regulatory authorities, and all relevant client standards as outlined Part 145 and Part 147 regulations and the respective expositions.
**Responsibilities**:
- Audit:
- Allocation of resources for acquitting the annual audit schedule.
- Developing the company audit schedule in consultation with the Head of Safety and relevant Responsible Managers.
- Assignment of auditors aligning resources and required skills sets.
- Monitoring of timeframes and audit reporting quality standards and peer review of audit reports.
- Adjust surveillance schedule based on quality or safety data recorded in the SMS/QMS.
- Ensure completion of operational audits as scheduled in the quality audit schedule and HSE annual plan.
- Ensure follow up action to close findings and actions in documented timeframes as per Company Safety Manual.
- Review the Quality Systems of new subcontractors who impact the operation and organise audits of their quality assurance systems.
- Host external audit teams as required during organisational 3rd Party Audits.
- Review and complete AMO Maintenance Authorisations including issue to the AMO.
- In consultation with the GM-Engineering if requested review and revoke AMO Maintenance Authorisations.
- Provide an active interface with AOC Departments and provide direction and advice as required to develop internal Policy, Process and procedures.
- Maintain and administer the Company Authorisations as documented in the Company Safety Manual.
- Investigations:
- Provide quality investigation feedback to the organization.
- Carry out quality and safety investigations as directed.
- Standards Delivery:
- Ensure that all quality related policies and procedures detailed in the Operations, Quality and Company Exposition manuals are adhered to and carry out an ongoing review of the adequacy and effectiveness of Quality System procedures.
- Maintain and keep current all Quality Audit and inspection records for review at any time by the competent authority and other external bodies as appropriate.
- Coordinating systems for the approval of vendors and monitor contractor quality compliance.
- Have overall responsibility for the control of quality records.
- Authorisations:
- Coordinate the company authorisation systems related to engineer approvals and trainers as required in applicable regulations.
- Ensure that all staff who carry out quality inspections and quality audits are adequately trained.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and contribute to process, policy and practice improvements and facilitate the developments of such changes.
- People Management:
- Guide team to work cooperatively and efficiently to support business objectives.
- Promote effective and positive team behaviours.
- Comply with all company HR policies and processes.
- External and Internal Relationships:
- Liaison with external agencies CASA, ATSB, and safety boards.
- Safety Manager and Safety Systems Manager.
- Other Managers and General Managers.
- Promote and maintain a high standard of quality and security compliance as required by the airline's Corporate Safety Manual by all subordinate staff.
**Job Requirements**
- Experience:
- AMO (or equivalent) experience (desirable, but not essential).
- Audit, investigation and safety assurance experience.
- Demonstrated experience in management role.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in aviation quality.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in the aviation and quality management systems.
- Qualifications:
- Relevant Quality or Safety qualification with Lead Auditor Qualification being an essential.
- Part 145 experience or ability to hold Form 4 CASA appointment for Part 145 Organization.
- Tertiary qualification in management desirable.
- Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of Aviation Laws & Regulations and Management of Aviation Quality Systems, Investigations, and Audit.
- Demonstrated Staff Management Skills.
- Skills:
- Effective Time Management and organisational skill.
- Ability to use initiative and think laterally and strategically, to be a change agent, and to audit and monitor processes and systems and undertake analysis.
- Demonstrated high interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
