- GIS AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The Role:

- Our client, located in Hurstville, NSW is looking for a GIS Team Lead to coordinate and develop up-to-date spatial information and GIS systems that are continually reviewed to reflect latest advances in the industry, and meet the needs of Council’s internal as well as external customers.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Council’s geographic information system, including software selection and deployment, user support & training, system management and data management to achieve total customer satisfaction.
- Lead, plan, organise and supervise Technology staff to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
- Support the ongoing development of GIS and associated mapping services within Council, and where possible as revenue raising opportunity from external users.
- Prepare reports and other Council documentation on geographic information management matters where required.
- Collate and prepare financial data and other information that supports budgeting and project costing, and financial management/statutory reporting for the Organisation.

Essential Criteria:

- Qualifications, Certificates & Licences
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.

Essential
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with management of cadastral data, land title, zoning and NSW property legislation procedures and practices.
- Demonstrated operational experience in spatial enablement of council information.
- Demonstrated ability in supervising staff to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and continuous improvement which results in positive change.
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and reporting on Key performance indicators.

Desirable
- Understanding of asset, land and property management.
- Experience with mobile mapping software.
- Database skills - preferably in Microsoft SQL
- Local Government Experience.
