GIS Data Analyst

Location:
Sydney

Summary:

The GIS Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying,

cleansing, manipulating and modelling data to contribute to the

development of existing and new products.

The GIS Data Analyst will also provide GIS support, mapping

and analysis services, including spatial data creation, data

management, spatial data analysis and map production.

Key Responsibilities:

o  Investigating, gathering, analysing and modelling data as

required by the business.

o  Solving complex data problems, and guide/mentor others to

achieve results

o  Collaborating with product, data and technology to develop and

produce products and solutions in line with business strategy

o  Providing technical and architectural advice within the spatial

Domain

o  Following development lifecycle phases from development,

testing to production, particularly being involved in the

deployment tasks required for each phase

o  Supporting Interactive Maps and Geospatial mapping

Applications

o  Developing incident fixes and minor enhancements

Relevant qualifications:

Bachelor degree or at least 5 years relevant experience

Relevant skills:

o  Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail

o  Strong problem-solving, verbal and written skills

o  Ability to work independently and as part of a team

o  Ability to present data and complex information in a clear and

o  concise manner

o  Ability to clearly communicate statistical concepts to senior and

o  non-technical audiences

o  Knowledge and proven skills in programming language and

development

o  Good technical knowledge of a range of software platforms,

databases and tools.

o  Knowledge of GIS concepts such as projection, datum, scale &

cartographic principles

o  Relevant experience: - Background in environmental science, data analytics,

geography or similar (desirable)

o  Demonstrated ability to achieve purposes of the role using SQL,

PL*SQL, R, FME, ArcGIS & QGIS platforms

o  Experience with utilising a range of data (raster and vector) from

different sources and formats.

o  Hands-on and practical insight in relation to the latest GIS and/

or Digital Engineering processes and tools.

o  Critical skills in algorithmic and technology development data
