**Duties**

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Paralegal you will:
**Legal**
- research, including legislation, regulation, case law, guidance, policies, procedures and industry best practice
- prepare regular updates on the introduction of new laws and regulations, recent case law and other relevant regulatory and parliamentary information
- coordinate subpoena returns including reviewing scope. sourcing relevant documents and reviewing of documents for relevance and legal professional privilege
- prepare draft advice and contracts
- assist with litigation including preparation of documents to brief counsel

**Board Governance**
- coordinate and maintain records of all decisions made by the Board/Committees in various registers
- prepare drafts of agendas and minute shells

**Administration**
- general administrative tasks, such as filing, co-ordination and chairing team meetings, coordination of team events and changes to intranet pages
- provide initial contact point services, together with information, advice and escalation where necessary to the appropriate person for resolution.

**Skills & Experience**
- Completed or currently studying a Bachelor of Laws with an Australian university or paralegal studies with a recognised educational institution in Australia
- Sound knowledge of legal terminology and principles
- Some understanding of the research associated with legislation and legal precedents
- A range of experience in providing paralegal support to a legal practice and/or an in-house legal team.
