Mandatory Qualifications/ Requirements
Employees must be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with the department's COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements.

**The Principal Business Officer key responsibilities are**:
- Provide timely and accurate strategic and operational information, advice and analysis to the Office of the Chief Practitioner and senior leadership team on asset management, financial, human resource, IT, information management another administrative and business issues.
- Develop and maintain strong professional networks with other areas of the department, in particular Business Services within the Office of the Deputy Director-General to ensure effective integration, coordination and liaison occurs.
- Lead the management of cost centres within the Office of the Chief Practitioner and provide advice and assistance to administrative staff to ensure accurate and accountable systems are maintained.
- Assist the Manager, Office of the Chief Practitioner, in the provision of authoritative, professional and timely advice to the Chief Practitioner on key issues pertaining to budget management, information management, and establishment management, including the analyses of findings and the recommendation of appropriate courses of action.
- Manage and monitor projects as directed by the Manager, Office of the Chief Practitioner, particularly in relation to business services initiatives, and report to the Manager, Office of the Chief Practitioner on progress and outcomes.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the good governance and objectives of the Office of the Chief Practitioner.
- Lead and supervise a team to achieve operational and strategic objectives for the Office of the Chief Practitioner and the department.
- Prepare and coordinate submissions, briefs, reports and operational planning as required.

The position has level 6 Human Resource and Financial Delegations.
This position is aligned to the Individual Contributor profile of the Queensland Public Service Leadership competencies for Queensland. To be successful in this role, you will be required to demonstrate capability in the areas detailed within the Role Profile.
This position reports to a Manager.
