An exciting opportunity has opened up within our finance team for a Junior Accounts Officer to join us on a Part Time basis This would be the perfect career step for someone currently studying in a similar field, or wanting to grow their previous finance knowledge in a professional club environment
About the role
The Junior Accounts Officer role is responsible for assisting the finance team with daily, monthly processes as well as assist our team with receiving, recording and verifying various transactions in a timely manner and accurately.
The role will essentially provide additional support and cover to our Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Accounting side of the business. With the aim to foster and establish a strong business understanding of our industry and forming key relationships which can lead to growth and internal opportunities within the finance team or equivalent in the business.
Responsibilities include
- Assist and support the team with statement reconciliation and invoice matching
- Assist with supplier queries and supplier forms/checklists
- Provide and assist with administrative support to the business
- Resolve any transactional discrepancies
- Provide back up to Accounts Payable Officer - matching, processing and approving weekly payment runs
- Process and assist the finance team with weekly and monthly billing and invoice generation to our debtors
- Assisting and processing daily and monthly journal entries for financial reporting
- Management of the Petty Cash process
- Preparing daily and monthly tasks and reports for the finance team with monthly closure
- Ensure financial data is updated and relevant for available stakeholders
- Liaise with Internal departments regarding missing invoices, queries and correct authorisation
- Respond, direct and manage our respective finance related inbox to ensure all queries are addressed in a timely manner
- Assist with month end processing and reporting

Essential Criteria
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Residency status
- Current studying a Business or Commerce degree or have relevant past experiences
- A high level of discretion is required in relation to personnel records and confidential information
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Be innovative and must be able to use initiative when dealing with problem solving and getting the job done.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal & written
- Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Maintain a High level of Professional and Personal Integrity & reliability
- Ability to travel between multiple work locations if requested
