About the role

Grow, develop, manage and maintain a portfolio of Bunnings stores in the Australia East Region.

You will identify and implement the rollout plan to deliver new project sites (freehold development and leasehold) and expand the existing portfolio - to facilitate the growth of the Bunnings Group business strategies, within defined budgets and parameters along with leading other value-add property strategies.

You will be involved in preparing detailed feasibilities for internal approval and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, consultants, lawyers and oversee the development approvals process.

This role would be based out of our Rhodes Support Office and we embrace hybrid working for our teams.

What's involved:

- Undertake detailed search activities to identify suitable sites or identify existing opportunities for the Bunnings Warehouse business, including completing detailed feasibility, due diligence and risk profile analysis of sites
- Negotiate purchase / lease of approved sites within budgets and time parameters
- Work proactively with the relevant Development Approvals Manager to coordinate and drive the town planning process, proactively manage consultants and other service providers
- Overseeing and working closely with Property Managers to ensure the existing network is maintained to optimum standards
- Managing and delivering on the store investment strategy
- Actively engage with local and state government agency stakeholders
- Supervise and manage the performance of external service providers
- Report on progress and performance as well as prepare monthly reports, whilst providing clear communication to all required parties on key decisions

Who we’re looking for

Bringing your previous experience in a similar role, you will have strong knowledge of the due diligence process with the ability to manage, coordinate, plan and create strategies in order to mitigate areas of potential risk.

You will be adept at engaging with stakeholders to collaboratively work together with the wider construction team and deliver favourable development outcomes.

You’ll need:

- Property Economics, Development or Valuation tertiary education favourable
- Demonstrated experience in similar role or related field (retail or industrial property development highly desirable)
- Proven ability in legal contracts, legal negotiation and decision making
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to think laterally
- Working knowledge of property law and statutory requirements
- Excellent communicator with ability to collaborate across the business
- Experience and understanding of the planning approval process and the ability to drive successful outcomes
- Experience in site selection and store design
- Ability to undertake detailed feasibilities, research and assessment of potential new sites
