Our client is a highly-regarded Australian law firm, consistently recognised for its ability to provide first-rate, commercial advice to major clients operating across a variety of sectors.

The firm are currently looking to recruit an experienced commercial litigator with insolvency experience into their busy Litigation and Disputes practice in Melbourne.

**Dispute Resolution & Litigation team**

The firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group are frequently involved in both Australian and international disputes spanning a wide range of industries and are particularly recognised for their niche strength in handling disputes relating to banking & financial services, construction, consumer & competition, insolvency and regulatory issues.

**Position Description**

The team is looking to grow their Disputes & Litigation group in Melbourne with the addition of a skilled
**mid-level Lawyer** or
**Associate with strong commercial litigation experience**.

This role will see you working closely with a market-leading partner within the team, assisting them with advising clients in a range of interesting and high-stakes disputes and litigation matters heard in the superior State and Federal Courts.

You will be deeply involved in the day-to-day carriage of files, including by:

- Liaising directly with clients, counter-parties and counsel;
- Preparing court documents and correspondence;
- Briefing expert witnesses;
- Instructing counsel including at interlocutory and directions hearings; and
- Attending mediations and settlement negotiations.

**Key Requirements**

**at least 4 years'**
**post admission experience** from another reputable litigation practice, ideally within the Australian market.

Moreover, you will have:

- a strong academic background from a reputable university;
- excellent communication skills and highly-developed attention to detail; and
- a positive attitude and ability to remain clam under pressure.
