**We are seeking a School Officer - DESIGN TECHNOLOGY - Technical Assistant to provide administrative and operational assistance to the Leader of Learning - Technologies and the Business Manager. This role is part-time 15 hours per week.**

**Typical duties performed include, but are not limited to**:

- Sharpen tools on a routine basis.
- Replace bags on dust extraction systems when full.
- Undertake regular maintenance and repairs on workshop equipment and machines.
- Organise and maintain resources room and equipment store.
- Prepare and cut materials for projects.
- Report damage and maintenance issues to Curriculum Development Leader and/or teachers.
- Assist with general tidiness of workshops and rooms.
- Assist with yearly stocktake, test & tag preparation, etc.
- Replace missing or damaged tools from tool racks where required.
- Re-fill consumables such as fixings, adhesives and finishes on a routine basis
- Organise storage of materials such as timber and consumable items.
- Assist with regular term and yearly workshop maintenance and repairs.
- Identify purchasing needs of materials and consumables.
- Register and label new items of equipment.
- Build fixtures and jigs when required.
- Update and maintain WHS requirements for class machine use.

**Occupational Health and Safety**

Employees have responsibilities relating to Occupational Health and Safety which require staff to recognise and support all of the School's Workplace Health and Safety Manuals, Policies, and Procedures, in addition to taking reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of yourself, and others at the workplace.
Desirable Building or Trade Certificate or background in a Trade would be an advantage but not mandatory.

- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
