**About the Role**:
The role requires the incumbent to provide strategic leadership in the ongoing development and review of service models and delivery types that supports the provision of integrated, proactive and targeted services to sites effectively and efficiently.
The trend of increasing learner complexity is well documented in the literature. Increasing numbers of children and young people are being identified with complex learning difficulties and disabilities often with co-existing conditions such as autism and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Behavioural issues are becoming increasingly more challenging and complex with a range of co-morbidity factors (including mental health) that require skills and expertise to identify underlying causes to better address the needs of the children and young people.
The Assistant Director, Student Support Services Operations will establish an ethos of continuous improvement through strategic leadership which includes the effective resolution of highly complex issues. The Assistant Director provides strategic advice and support in the management, analysis and use of both student support services and broader departmental and interagency data and information to drive improvement and quality service delivery.
**Qualifications**:
**Essential**: Appropriate tertiary qualification in one or more of the following fields: education, psychology, speech pathology, social work or other relevant behavioural/social science areas.
**Desirable**: Relevant experience in service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and/or culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
S121 5 $149,582 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%)
