The opportunity
This role, within a team of investigators, undertakes activities designed to maximise compliance with Victoria's revenue laws and ensure revenue is collected when it is due. These are entry level roles specifically related to payroll-tax, land tax and first home buyer investigations. This is a great opportunity for anyone considering beginning their career in the tax compliance field, or for individuals looking to return to this field. Extensive training is provided, including one-on-one mentoring.
**Reporting to a Team Leader, you will**:
- Conduct assigned investigations, under guidance, using audit and investigative skills.
- Quantify customers' tax liabilities and explaining to them the reasons for the decisions made as part of an investigation.
- Produce accurate reports on investigation findings and negotiating appropriate outcomes with customers.
Who we are looking for
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Professional customer service skills to consult with customers and identify needs and negotiate outcomes as well as working cooperatively and professionally in a team environment.
- A tertiary qualification or demonstrated commitment to tertiary studies in a relevant discipline (highly desirable).
