Workplace Health & Safety Business Partner – Regional
Join Berry Street Yooralla as a WHS Business Partner (Regional) to drive a safe, healthy, and inclusive workplace while supporting injury management and providing practical, region‑specific guidance to staff.
About the Role
The WHS Business Partner (Regional) supports the organisation to create and maintain a safe, healthy and inclusive workplace. This role works closely with managers, employees, and stakeholders to implement WHS initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and promote compliance with safety systems and legislation.
In addition to WHS responsibilities, the role provides localised support for injury management, including early intervention, return‑to‑work coordination, and collaboration with healthcare providers and insurers. By combining safety and injury management at the regional level, the role ensures timely, practical and person‑centred support for staff.

- Work Health and Safety: Provide expert WHS guidance, conduct risk assessments and inspections, support compliance, deliver training, and partner with leaders to implement safety initiatives and regional strategies.
- Injury Management (Regional Focus): Act as the regional first point of contact for workplace injuries, coordinate return‑to‑work plans, support rehabilitation and wellbeing initiatives, and provide local insights to the central Injury Management team.
- Incident Response and Continuous Improvement: Support managers with incident management, lead investigations, contribute regional WHS and injury data, and identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Foster strong local relationships, collaborate with stakeholders, and align with central teams to promote a proactive safety and wellbeing culture.
About You
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and monitoring WHS systems, frameworks, and programmes in a complex organisation.
- In‑depth knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and codes, including experience responding to WorkSafe investigations.
- Proven experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience in occupational violence risk management and early intervention strategies.
- Ability to provide expert WHS advice, influence leaders and coach managers on building a safety culture.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current National Police Record Check.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
