**The opportunity**

The analytical team provides operational technical analysis through the exploitation of ASIO's data holdings. This encompasses digital environment discovery, opportunity and risk identification to shape the knowledge, planning and conduct of activities undertaken by ASIO to support its mission. As a member of this team you will be responsible for the conduct of operational analysis and the timely communication of that analysis to various stakeholders. The team also undertakes strategic analysis of trends within the digital environment.

A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.

This role may attract an additional technical skills allowance of up to 10% of base salary.

**Role responsibilities**

As a Technical Analyst (Digital Data) you will:

- Conduct in-depth technical analysis to build comprehensive technical reports.
- Analyse and interpret complex data sources to identify trends, patterns and relationships.
- Develop and maintain expertise in specific technical domains, staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies.
- Provide actionable intelligence to support technical operations and strategic decision-making.

**What you will bring**
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in data or network analysis and/or with intelligence information.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to build upon and sustain relationships with a network of key internal / external partners and industry.
- An openness and ability to learn and understand analytical and technical concepts in relation to data profiling systems and capabilities.
- A tertiary degree or other qualifications in a STEM field relevant to the position, and on the job experience within a relevant technical role, is desirable but not essential.

- An Australian citizen.
