**Principal - Health, Safety and Well-being**
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Health and Safety Located in our Perth Head Office
This role will support the continual improvement in the sustainability performance of Perenti.
The role will assist in the development and maintenance of health, safety and well-being related processes and initiatives as well as the analysis of data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
**Key accountabilities and challenges**:
- Collaborate with the broader Sustainability team to deliver on agreed HSW objectives
- Implement Group Standards and Procedures
- Develop Corporate management systems and plans
- Assist in the development of reports and papers for the Group Executive and Board
- Timely analysis of data and the identification of HSW insights, making appropriate recommendations
- Participate in the global HSE Assurance program
- Provide effective HSW support to the Corporate Office and Divisions.
**The key challenges** for this role anticipated for the coming 12 month period include:
- Completing a gap assessment against Group Standards and Procedures
- Collaborating with Divisions to develop an assurance plan
- Supporting the implementation of specific HSW related initiatives, including, health and hygiene, building a comprehensive risk register, contractor management and change management.
You will be working with both internal and external stakeholders including:
- Perenti Group Executive
- Corporate Sustainability Function
- Divisional HSE&T Functions for Contract Mining, Mining Services and Idoba
- Internal Audit, Risk and Group Technology teams
- External organisations such as CMEWA, MCA and AREEA.
Key Skills and experience for the role:
- Must have significant corporate office experience, supported by site knowledge and understanding
- Tertiary qualifications in health and safety, occupational hygiene, environment, engineering or a related field
- 8+ years’ experience in a mining/contract services leadership role, preferably with some exposure to Africa or North America
- Relevant working knowledge of current legislation and management systems
- Experience in preparing and presenting data insights and reports for Board and Executive levels
- Guiding the development of HSE data systems, (e.g., occupational health and hygiene, risk, compliance)
- Conducting and reporting on internal HSE assurance audits
- Proven track record of successfully leading health, safety, and well-being programs at a corporate level
- Experience in incident investigations
- Experience developing risk management processes and facilitating risk assessments
- Field engagement and coaching.
