**About the Role**
- As a **Principal Asset Management - Mobile Equipment**, you will play a pivotal role in aligning asset strategies across BHP’s operations, functions, and assets. Your work will ensure a unified approach to managing mining equipment assets and that equipment selection supports our long-term operational and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mobile fleet analysis, including whole-of-life and productivity modelling
- Conduct life cycle and economic analysis to drive investment decisions.
- Forecast major component and asset replacements.
- Perform project cost analysis to support executive decision-making.
- Review component history, budget alignment, and capitalization status of asset requests.
- Financial modelling and evaluation of vendor submission for pricing and engage with internal stakeholders to align mobile fleet capital requirements.
- Ensure asset depreciation aligns with residual values and current assets.
- Utilize SAP and Asset Management System’s data validation and performance monitoring
- Enhance system reporting capabilities and drive process automation.
- Contribute to the development of Power BI reports for asset management.
This role offers a global perspective on equipment planning and plays a critical part in decisions related to repurposing, redeployment, procurement, and retirement of capital equipment. Your insights will directly support production demands and our decarbonization objectives.
**About You**

- Proven experience and **strong skills in** **forecasting and budgeting**, with the ability to support strategic planning and financial decision-making.
- A **solid understanding of holistic asset management principles**, including practical experience in life cycle costing and familiarity with Asset Management Fundamentals
- A degree in a technical or engineering discipline is required, and additional qualifications or certifications in finance will be highly regarded.
- Sound technical knowledge of Caterpillar, Sandvik, Komatsu, and Liebherr equipment—both diesel and battery-electric are highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives.
- Advanced presentation and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders effectively.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of navigating complex stakeholder environments and conducting in-depth technical analysis.
