**A**bout the Role**

The role would suit a person with legal experience or interest, including someone currently doing GIPA-related work and seeking a step-up in accountability, or interested in working within another government agency. It would also suit someone in a paralegal role, or currently working towards a legal qualification, and who is interested in gaining experience in the area of administrative law.

**Duties**

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as **Advisor in the IARC team** you will:

- Act in accordance with the GIPA Act to process assigned matters, undertake document review, and prepare draft Notice of Decisions for consideration/approval by the IARC Manager.
- Provide excellent customer service for external customers and internal staff to support the organisation’s commitment to transparency and accountability in providing access to information.
- Provide advice and support to the broader business units on GIPA, and other information requests under various legislation, and provide guidance to others involved on these requests.

**Skills & Experience**
- Recent experience in a similar role, with a deep knowledge and understanding of the GIPA Act.
- Experience reviewing and responding to information requests (e.g. regulatory requests, Standing Order 52s etc.) in a regulated environment.
- Experience working in a customer service/customer facing role and delivering a high standard service, compliant with legislation.
- Self-starter, able to work with mínimal supervision and manage deadlines and high volumes.
