Critical Incident Team (Counsellor)
Contract Available

Brisbane or Sunshine Coast

Character Care are searching for Counsellors to join our vibrant Critical Incident Team, where you will receive
unique opportunities to learn and contribute to our innovative therapeutic community. We are looking for
counsellors who are willing to expand their approach by integrating our values while bringing their own
character to our practice.

What we do

Character Care has developed from our big brother organisation, Character Builders, who facilitate corporate
and school leadership/team building programs. Character Care has been in operation since 2017 servicing a
wide variety of clientele including individual, couples, family, groups, children, NDIS and supervision. We are
currently ready to expand our business to have a specific team to service Critical Incidents exclusively for the
South-East Queensland area. Our philosophies reside in the strengths-based approaches where building on
positive character traits can enrich one’s confidence to build their desired future. We value the immense
power of group dynamics, storytelling, art (writing, painting, journaling), experiential therapy, affirmations
and validations.

Successful applicants will possess:

Desire to work with wide variety of clientele
Min 3 Years Post Qualification experience
Passion for mental health
Openness to new and creative ways of practice
Willingness to integrate Character Care approaches
Approachable and welcoming, with confident interpersonal skills
Genuine, kind, and empathetic

With experience in the following areas (but not limited to):

Children, Adolescents, Couples and Family therapy
Child Anxiety and Depression
Disability (including Autism and Deaf)
Grief and Loss
Separation, Family Breakdown, and Relationships
Group Work/Dynamics
Critical Incidents and Crisis Support

Applicants must have:

Full registration with AHPRA (psychologists), ACA (counsellors), or PACFA, or equivalent
ABN (contractors)
Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance (contractors)
Eligibility for Medicare Provider Number (Psychologists)

We are looking to expand our team of counsellors who will commit to certain availabilities where client
bookings will be orchestrated around these times. If successful, prior to the commencement of your
employment, you will receive training in our philosophy and induction to our processes.
