**The Opportunity**

The City of Melton is located on the fringe of Melbourne in the rapidly expanding western corridor. The city is experiencing one of the fastest growth rates in the state and is currently seeking creative and energetic people to join the Community Transport team as Community Transport Drivers.

The successful applicants will be responsible providing older people and people with a disability access to the broader community through provision of a safe and supported transport service. Ensuing Community Transport vehicle maintenance and cleaning schedules are actioned and supporting documentation is completed accurately and within required timelines.

The position reports directly to the Community Transport Supervisor and will be responsible for contributing towards a strong positive culture within the Community Care team and greater Melton City Council.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Transport clients to and from a range of locations including Seniors Centers, Social Support activity spaces, and health providers, in line with Council policy and procedures.
- Provide feedback on the health and wellbeing of clients and report circumstances where clients may be ‘at risk’ or requiring additional support.
- Enable bus passengers to board and alight safely, assisting clients as required including securing shopping and mobility aids.
- Provide First Aid as required and during emergencies.
- Undertake daily mechanical checks and scheduled servicing ensuring any safety concerns are reported and actioned, including interior and exterior cleanliness of Community Transport vehicles.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or related discipline with relevant experience.
- Current Victorian Light Rigid License along with a safe driving record.
- Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with and transporting older people, people with dementia, people with a disability and their carers.
- An understanding and knowledge of OH&S and risk management practices in relation to transportation of older people and people with a disability.

The successful applicant must be available to work rostered hours including weekend and after hours work.
All successful applicants will undergo a mandatory Police Check and Medical/Functional Capacity Test prior to commencing.
