Deputy Supervisor

This is a casual role based in the Serjeant-At-Arms' Office. The Serjeant-at-Arms’ Office provides services to support the House of Representatives chamber and Federation Chamber, Members and their staff at Parliament House, and employees of the department.
**About the role**
The occupant of the role will support the Supervisor, Messenger Services, in leading and managing a team of approximately 30 (principally non-ongoing sessional) staff supporting the operations of the House of Representatives chambers and the department. The occupant of the role will undertake regular duties in the House of Representatives chamber and Federation Chamber in parliamentary sitting weeks.
The occupant of the role will support the Supervisor in performing staff management and rostering functions and will help ensure departmental information and requirements are effectively communicated to the Messenger Services team.
The occupant of the role will have demonstrated leadership skills, the ability to work with limited supervision and demonstrated knowledge of parliamentary procedure, or the capacity to develop this quickly.
