Geelong, Australia Department of Justice and Community Safety Full time

**Establish and maintain partnerships across organisations to deliver education, training and employment services to facilitate employment opportunities.**:

- **Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team.**:

- **VPS Grade 5: $113,022 - $136,747 plus superannuation.**

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Employment Pathway Broker, West Area to provide a critical role within Justice Services.

**About the Business Unit**

Justice Services is responsible for the direction, management, and operation of Victoria's Community Correctional Services (CCS) across more than 35 locations. It ensures offenders are safely managed in the community and aims to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

**About the Role**

The purpose of the Employment Pathway Broker is to establish and maintain partnerships (and supportive governance structures) with organisations that deliver education, training and employment programs and services locally and regionally in the community, as well as industry groups interested in employing offenders. There is expectation that these partnerships assist effective delivery of initiatives within Corrections Victoria's Offender Employment Pathway Framework, primarily by improving access for offenders sentenced to community-based orders to programs/services with capacity to improve their employment outcomes.

Establishing and maintaining effective multi-sector partnerships is complex. It critically depends on establishing strong working relationships between key individuals, often from different professional backgrounds and working cultures. Given this, effective partnerships often take considerable effort and time to establish. They also need on-going support and attention to ensure they are robust, enduring and result in demonstrable benefits to all participating organisations (and clients).

As the Employment Pathway Broker, West Area, some of your duties will include:

- Establishing and maintaining relationships across organisations that deliver education, training and employment services to facilitate sustainable opportunities for DJCS clients.
- Engaging with case managers and clients to assist and place them into employment or further education/training through established hard referral pathways.
- Ensuring accurate, clear and appropriate communication with partners and internal stakeholders to ensure there is a common understanding of and commitment to jointly agreed initiatives.

To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated understanding of education, training and/or employment related service systems.

**Qualifications**
- A Certificate IV Workplace Trainer and Assessor qualification would be highly regarded.

**How to Apply**

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**:
**CHILD SAFE STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT**:
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. We seek to prevent harm of any kind impacting children and young people and have zero tolerance for racism, child abuse and inequality. Children and young people's rights, relationships, identity, and culture must be recognised and respected, their voices heard, and their concerns acted upon. We aim to foster a culturally safe, child safe and child friendly environment for all children and young people we have contact with, deliver services to, or are impacted by our work.
