**The position**

Reporting to the Managing Director - Operations, this position has overall responsibility across the following:

- Ensure safety, environment, training and quality management systems across all business activities and projects are planned, implemented and maintained.
- Enable safety related training and assessments including Verification of Competency assessments and inductions
- Ensure the maintenance of hazard and risk databases and other data systems
- Provide safety and health leadership and advice to all local and on-site operations teams
- Ensure the timely implementation of safety systems, strategies & initiatives across site operations
- Provide leadership and direction to site based safety advisors across all site operations
- Maintain the HSEQ and training management systems
- Lead incident and accident investigations, including ICAM
- Ensure compliance with WHS regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assist in fit for work assessment programs
- Oversee all injury management systems and associated activities
- Provision of regular management reporting

**About you**
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

- Tertiary qualifications in WHS
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (current)
- Minimum five years of relevant leadership experience in a similar role
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and engagement skills
- Advanced technical expertise in WHS systems
- Exposure to cloud based WHS software. Previous exposure to Skytrust will be an advantage.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Organisational skills and ability to prioritize and multi task
- Clean and current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence or equivalent
- Working knowledge of the new WHS legislation and regulations
- Ability to engage positively with stakeholders at all levels including, clients, staff and contractors on and off site
- Willingness to travel regularly to site as required
- A hands on, collaborative approach to work.
