**About the Opportunity**:
The Internal Auditor is an essential part of the Flourish Australia’s risk management, compliance and continuous improvement activities. The position provides important independent investigation and assurance functions to support the Senior Leadership Team and the Board in fulfilling their responsibilities and obligations in relation to good corporate governance, effective risk management, continuous improvement and compliance with key functional performance indicators.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will:

- demonstrate your auditing experience in **quality assurance systems, risk management, and organisational systems and procedure**:

- have experience in **developing, designing and implementing an overall internal audit strategy**:

- have **strong communication skills** and have the ability to develop and write reports
- be **adaptable and responsive** to the needs of the organisation in relation to good corporate governance, effective risk management and continuous improvement.
- be an **excellent collaborator**, liaising with all internal and external stakeholders regarding audit programs.
- be proactive in keeping up-to-date on all changes to relevant legislation, regulations and standards, reviewing these on a regular basis.
- The key tasks and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:_
- With guidance,** design an overall internal audit strategy** and program in line with strategic priorities, revising it annually to ensure responsiveness to organisational and environmental changes.
- Responsible for Flourish Australia’s Standards accreditations, including liaising with external auditors, following up with internal stakeholders, and **supporting the external audit process.**:

- **Designs and conducts audit tests** to assess financial and operational functioning, processes and effective controls and mitigation strategies.
- Ensures suitable reporting systems are in place to **monitor and report on the progress of audit outcomes and recommendations**.

**Selection Criteria**:
**_ Essential:_**
- **Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Australia**
- A minimum of **3 years of internal auditing experience** in a complex setting, including design and implementation of audit programs
- Comprehensive understanding of contemporary issues in operations and risk management
- Demonstrated strong communication and negotiation skills, and excellent interpersonal organisational skills and presentation skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and ability to fully utilise the relevant information management system(s).
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.

**_Desirable:_**
- A carer role or having a lived experience will be an advantage.
- Tertiary qualifications in a business discipline such as finance, management, or IT
- Certification as an internal auditor through the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation
- Understanding of the disability service sector including the NDIS, government policy and legislative environment
